The Creating Process.com followed my “Moonlight Silhouettes II” project from construction through the first opening of the exhibit and their photos and short video can be seen here :: thecreatingprocess.com/creators/rich. Thank you to Guillermo Ubilla for the nice piece and especially cool photographs of our crew at work back in July. The exhibit will also be shown in November and December with an opening event on Saturday, November 5th. Details coming soon.
We successfully executed the Moonlight Silhouettes II photoshoot last weekend building and testing the set on a 95+ degree Friday and doing the shoot on Sunday. A cast and crew of 12 busted their butts for this project and I was humbled by everyone’s efforts and dedication to the vision. Tonight the aerialists, Mallory & Stephanie, reviewed and edited the photos with me and I think we have ourselves an art show! The opening is Saturday, August 27th at IX Art Park. There will be bands, beer and food trucks. Mark your calendars!
In the meantime, here’s a behind the scenes peek at our set under construction:
Chamomile & Whiskey had me in the studio with them in April as they recorded two new songs for a Fall 2015 release. Here’s a 10 minute look behind the scenes (including the rough mixes of the tunes) I put together with a little editing help from Marco Duran.
I headed out to Minneapolis last week for the annual D4’th of July event hosted by Dillinger Four at the Triple Rock and this year featuring a secret one-off reunion show by Lifter Puller. I quickly snapped the photo below after their only practice before the gig. The rest of the practice photos can be seen on this page and the event photos of all the bands including Tim Barry and Against Me! can be found on my Flickr album page.
The “Moonlight Silhouettes” series is an official Community Exhibit in the international LOOK3 Festival of the Photograph this week in downtown Charlottesville. The exhibit is up through Sunday night, June 15th at Champion Brewing Company and it is open for public viewing during their daily tap room hours. More information on the entire festival can be found here :: LOOK3.
Chamomile & Whiskey had me in the studio with them this week as they attempted to record two new songs from scratch in two days. I will produce a short video piece on the process in the coming weeks but in the meantime, here is a sneak peek via a dozen or so photos :: Chamomile & Whiskey at Monkeyclaus Studio.
The good folks at the C-ville Weekly threw my name on the cover of this week’s issue and ran this swell interview piece in advance of Friday’s “Moonlight” opening at The Garage. Click here for the full article.
